DROOL: When do you feel you first found success in the world of art, and how have you grown since then?
Christy & Hally: We started sharing our prints on Instagram to show our friends and family what we were up to, and from that we have joined a strong community of art lovers and printmakers. Our ‘Curious Doggo’ Print was our first real success, reaching a wider audience on Instagram and has proved extremely popular with both printmakers and dog lovers alike. Since the beginning we had commissions for Pet Portraits
DROOL: How did you discover your voice in art?
Christy & Hally: It was in October 2020 that we participated in something called ‘Inktober’ online, which meant we were creating a new print everyday, this challenge allowed us to experiment with different subject matters. However we were always drawn back to making animal prints, pet prints and most importantly dog prints.
DROOL: What compels you to keep driving forward as an artist? How do you aspire to grow as an artist this year?
Christy & Hally: We started all of this as something that we enjoyed, coming to it without any formal education, learning what we could from a couple of workshops, online tutorials, and the Instagram community. As amateur printmakers we aspire to develop our skills and really enjoy discovering new techniques and materials.
DROOL: What about dogs attracts you to them as subjects for your artwork? Christy & Hally: Both of us grew up with dogs and while now we don’t yet have a dog; we are fortunate that the people whom we love and who surround us all have dogs. And so we are constantly inspired by their dogs, whether they are the Labradors, Toy Pomeranians, or Springadors.

DROOL: Which do you prefer: dogs or people, and why?
Christy & Hally: We prefer people who can love as unconditionally as dogs. have to say it’s a tie.
DROOL: If you had to choose one dog breed to characterize who you are, what breed would it be and why?
Christy & Hally: Wasn’t sure how to answer this, so after an online quiz, we found that these were quite apt.
Hally would be a Corgi.
Christy would be a British Bull Dog.
DROOL: Anything else you want to share with the dog-loving humans of Earth?
Christy & Hally: We love connecting with both dog and art lovers from all over the world, so we would like to take this wonderful opportunity to say: come join us on our journey as we continue being inspired by dogs across the globe.
