At BIXBI Pet, we take the production of our pet food very seriously. We maintain the highest quality standards and safety procedures to guarantee that BIXBI foods and treats are the absolute best in their class.
What does that mean? Well for starters it means that our facilities are audited on an ongoing basis by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure strict food safety standards are maintained. Additionally, each of our facilities has Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) food safety regulations.

We use local, fresh ingredients whenever possible. Quite a lot of our ingredients are sourced here in the USA! However, with the global supply chain, we do have some instances where we have to source internationally to ensure a consistent product. We do our due diligence to make sure that our ingredients, wherever they are sourced, are as clean as possible!
Meat meals are rendered at high temperatures, then dried at high temperatures, then cooked once more. Meals are a powder used in pet food for protein enhancement.
BIXBI uses fresh meat and emphasizes whole food nutrition which contributes to our industry-leading digestibility results.
Natural flavoring is commonly added to pet food to provide enhanced flavor and palatability. It’s best described as a highly concentrated protein, similar to bouillon. For example, natural vegetable flavor is the natural ingredient made from vegetables.

BIXBI allows you to easily mix-it-up for your pet!
All of our diets can be combined and rotated. Because our ingredient panels are so clean and limited, you can easily switch between our recipes. You can also combine the Dry Food with the Freeze-Dried or the Wet Food. This makes meal time delicious and interesting for your pet. If your pet has been know to have a sensitive tummy, we do recommend a transition period between recipes.
BIXBI uses the Waltham Method to calculate feeding guidelines. Waltham produced guidelines for nutrient requirements using clinical research and scientific evidence for companion animals and updates these guidelines every two years.
It’s important to note that feeding guidelines vary based on a number of factors such as activity level, age and pregnant or lactating mothers. To account for these variety of factors, we’ve provided detailed feeding guidelines for pet owners. The suggested servings are guidelines and may need to be adjusted based on each individual dog or cat's needs.
Food allergies are typically allergies triggered by the protein component of the ingredient. Salmon oil does not contain protein and should not trigger an allergic response. Please consult your veterinarian to understand your pet's unique allergy needs.

Most baked and extruded kibbles are cooked at similar temperatures. The difference lies in how it’s formed. Extruded kibble is cooked and formed in the extruder and dried in the dryer. Baked kibble is formed by a die, and cooked and dried in an oven. BIXBI's kibble is cooked in an extruder.
Our kibble is formed and cooked in the extruder. We include so much fresh meat, poultry, or fish that we do not have to add any water. The kibble is cooked for about 30 minutes at a variety of temperatures. For food safety purposes, we do make sure that our kibble reaches the temperature of 212F.
We also are very diligent about testing both our raw ingredients and our finished kibble to make sure that it is not only healthy, but safe to feed your pet!

Eggs are non-fertilized, which means the eggs have a different amino acid profile than chicken. However, each pet and their health and dietary needs are different. Please consult your vet to confirm any dietary and allergy concerns.

No. Our wet food is not raw. All wet food is cooked to ensure it is free of any pathogens. Unlike many wet dog foods, RAWBBLE is made with 86-95% single-source meat, liver and broth. We use fresh meat, no meat meals. Additionally, RAWBBLE does not have carrageenan or other gums commonly used in wet food. We use agar-agar, which is a healthy vegan alternative to chemically extruded carrageenan and other gums.
If you are looking for a raw option, we recommend RAWBBLE Freeze-Dried Food for Dogs. It pairs very well with our RAWBBLE Wet or Dry Food.
Agar-agar is a healthy vegan gelatin substitute to the other gelatins commonly found in wet food.
Carrageenan is commonly used in canned food as a binder or thickening agent. Carrageenan is also commonly thought to have inflammatory properties.
While carrageenan and agar-agar are both derived from seaweed, carrageenan is the chemically derived product of kelp, while agar-agar is the natural product of red algae.
We test every batch of our RAWBBLE and LIBERTY Freeze-Dried for microbial contaminants before it leaves our facility to ensure safety.
You certainly can add water to re-hydrate our Freeze-Dried Recipes; however, it is not necessary. If you choose to rehydrate, provide a 1:2 ratio of water to food. (ie. 1/2 cup water for 1 cup food). It is always important to provide your pet with plenty of water while feeding.
Yes. We use High Pressure Processing (HPP). HPP kills pathogenic bacteria through high-pressure water based technology. It is a USDA approved process and ensures our products are safe for you to handle and your pet to enjoy!
RAWBBLE Freeze-Dried has such a high content of meat or poultry, organs, and bone that the texture of the finished food embodies the texture and density of the raw meat. As a result, recipes that contain meat that is more dense, such as Beef, Lamb and Pork will have a firmer texture than the recipes that contain poultry.
RAWBBLE Freeze-Dried is made in small batches to ensure the highest quality product, and as a result, you may notice variability between batches.
BIXBI Freeze-Dried Food should be stored in a cool, dry place, and kept in an airtight container.

There are 2,400 mg/kg; 34 mg/stick of glucosamine and 1,200 mg/kg; 17 mg/stick of chondroitin.
Our chondroitin is sourced in the USA, and is extracted from pork cartilage. Our glucosamine is sourced from India or Vietnam, and is derived from crab and shrimp shells.
Our BIXBI Pocket Trainers and LIBERTY Trainers are made in the USA.
We source the majority of our ingredients from the United States, with the exception of turmeric from India, sorbic acid from Germany, and our tapioca starch can come from the US or Thailand.
No, none of our products contain xylitol or artificial sweeteners.
The length of our Trainers is 1/2in, and the width is 3/8in. They are also made to be easily broken in half for frequent treating!
Bark Pops and Ruff Puffs are made in a human grade facility with human grade ingredients, and are safe for both you and your dog to enjoy. Just make sure next time he saves some for your pup too!
The directions for use for our Supplements are by weight. We recommend 1/4 tsp per 25lbs. If your pet is smaller than this, you can scale down the amount. We include a two-sided scooper with our Supplements. The big side is 1/4 tsp, and the small side is 1/8 tsp.
It is safe to give your pet two BIXBI supplements at once. By giving your pet two supplements, there are a variety of biologically active compounds that can be effective. We do not recommend combing more than 2 supplements.
We dry the mushrooms in a HEPA filtered forced air dryer at 160-180 degrees. Beta Glucans (Polysaccharides) are very heat stable and are not damaged by these temperatures.
There are no known risks of administering our supplements to dogs and cats of any age or breed.
Safe use in pregnant, breeding or nursing dogs/cats has not been proven. It is important to contact your vet before administering any supplements to your pregnant or nursing dog/cat.
It is generally safe for your pet with chicken allergies to take the Joints supplement, but please consult your vet first. Because NEM is from the membrane of an egg, we do not recommend the Joint supplement for pets with an egg allergy.
Our Joints formula contains Natural Eggshell Membrane (NEM®), which is not organic. However all other ingredients in this formula are certified USDA organic.

Yes, you can double the dose of our supplement(s) for the first week. After one week, please reduce to the recommended dose.
If you are having trouble administering the supplement to your pet, we recommend mixing it with peanut butter or broth to enhance palatability.
It’s best to keep BIXBI supplements at room temperature. Exposure to moisture for long periods of time will reduce the shelf life of the product. A kitchen cabinet works best!
Sometimes we hear from customers who received their order of supplements in the mail and they’re concerned that the canister of mushrooms was sitting in a hot mailbox for an afternoon. Not to worry! Our supplements are unaffected by temperatures under 121 ̊C (249 ̊F).
