Tell us about a day in your life.

The day in the life of a SAR dog in training is quite unpredictable. My dad constantly seeks out opportunities to expose me to new sights, sounds, smells and experiences in order to make comfortable with all things. A typical day will involve transport on a chairlift and snowmobile and include some obedience and search training.

How long have you been doing this?

I was born on August 1st, 2022 and I have been actively training as a SAR dog since I was 10 weeks old.

What skill or trick are you most proud of?

The skill that I’m most proud of is my ability to find human scent coming from within the snowpack and telling my handler where that location is.

Tell us something you've trained your human to do.

I have taught my human how to dig holes. Whenever I tell him there is a person under the snow, he gets out a shovel and helps me dig a hole!

Anything else we need to know?

My dad cares greatly about the quality of the food and treats that he feeds me and BIXBI has ensured that I am on a balanced and nutritious diet.
